Embracing Equality: Promoting equality and inclusion in the early years
The Pre-school Learning Alliance's new publication Embracing Equality examines the key role of early years practitioners in creating positive models of inclusion which enable very young children to develop in an environment free from prejudice and discrimination. Described by Trevor Phillips, Chair of the Commission for Equalities and Human Rights, in his foreword as 'essential reading for all practitioners working in early years settings, at all levels and across different sectors', Embracing Equality addresses the fact that children learn prejudiced attitudes and discriminatory behaviour from those around them at a very early age, well before they get to school.
Exploring a wide range of topics, Embracing Equality enables practitioners to improve their own practice in the broader context of anti-discrimination legislation. Thought-provoking case studies and exercises feature throughout, helping early years settings to develop a fully inclusive culture.
Price for Alliance members: £11.40
Price for non-members: £14.25
